01 / CONTEXT

The problem

Two furniture brands needed their wholesale customers to browse the catalog, stock and prices and build quotes, without exposing prices to every visitor and with inventory tracked by branch and by fabric.

02 / IMPLEMENTATION

My contribution

Development of the full platform: two catalogs (De La Rocha and Vera Home); wholesale access requests and accounts with access states (approved, temporary with an expiry date and suspended); prices visible only to authorized accounts; inventory by branch and fabric, with upcoming arrivals offered as pre-orders; quotes with in-stock, pre-order, made-to-order and special-fabric items, per-line holds and a PDF with the brand logo and a photo of each piece; and an admin panel with roles and two-factor authentication. Database, authentication, storage and functions on Supabase; email through Resend.

03 / HANDOVER

What the website provides

Every change goes through a full verification before it is merged: formatting, lint, types, unit, Edge Function, database (pgTAP) and API tests, a build check for sourcemaps and secrets, and end-to-end tests in a real browser at 1440, 768 and 390 px with accessibility checks (axe). The handover includes an admin manual, a user acceptance test script and a deployment and rollback procedure.

Project decisions

  • Separate access by account state: approved, temporary with an expiry date and suspended.
  • Protect the admin panel with roles and two-factor authentication, which the main administrator can require for the whole team.
  • Track inventory by branch and by fabric, and show upcoming arrivals next to current stock.
  • Check the build before release: no sourcemaps or secrets, and an initial JavaScript budget.
  • Test in a real browser on desktop, tablet and phone, with automated accessibility checks and a review of the production build’s security headers.
  • Document operations: admin manual, content capture templates, UAT script and rollback procedure.
